Uninterruptible Power Supply Services

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Service Offering Definition (SOD)

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Roles and Responsibilities (RnR)

UPS services provide uninterruptible clean power to agency devices in offices and facilities that may not otherwise have a UPS installed.  This service allows agencies to determine technical or business requirements for continuous uninterruptible power and jointly with DET determine which predefined UPS device should be installed to meet capacity requirements while knowing that DET is monitoring, managing, and maintaining the devices.

There are two UPS rates:

  • Small-to-Medium UPS, which supports 1000-1500 Volt Ampere (VA) Output Capacity

  • Large UPS, which supports 1501-3000 Volt Ampere (VA) Output Capacity

Each UPS is billed monthly through the Enterprise Billing System. If a site subscribes to a DET service offering that requires a UPS, such as a Remote File Server, the rate for that service offering includes the UPS.  However, if there is a business need for a UPS on a DET service offering that does not require a UPS, then the posted UPS rates will be applied.  An example of this is the LAN Service. Please see the DET Rate Sheet for complete rate information.
