Strategic Planning

For the Department of Administration's (DOA), Division of Enterprise Technology, strategic planning is an integral step in determining where to invest resources and how to align these investments with State and agency goals. To achieve this, executive branch agency leaders in business areas, finance, procurement, and other areas work with IT to create opportunities that strengthen our ability to drive innovation and execute.

Pursuant to s.16.971(2)(m), DOA develop a statewide strategic IT plan every even-numbered year. This plan is built upon the annual strategic IT plans submitted by executive branch agencies, boards, and commissions other than the University of Wisconsin System and statutory authorities. Many leaders across multiple areas participate in creating the guiding principles, goals, and objectives that become the statewide strategic IT plan.
